February 21st, 2010 2nd Annual Charity Chili & Pootfest Denison, TX Everyone has a favorite Chili or Bean recipe. It could be worth a lot to your favorite charity! Enter by yourself or with a team. Chili and/or beans must be cooked on site - No cans. Beans may be pre-soaked overnight. Any variety of chili or bean welcome. Winners are chosen by popular vote of accumulated tickets in covered containers. Unique trophies awarded to winning cookers. Winners choose the charity of their choice to receive the prize money. February 28th, 2010 House Family Fundraiser & Poker Run Denison, TX Join us on Sunday, February 28th from Noon - 5:00 PM at Loose Wheels, TX for a Fundraiser & Poker Run to benefit the Lee House Family. Lee's wife, Mariana died in December, 2 days after the premature birth of their fourth child, Sammie. Little Sammie has been diagnosed with Down's syndrome and is still in the hospital. Although they have health insurance the family has suffered huge out-of-pocket expenses and will face many new emotional hurdles and financial challenges. There will be live music by The Jessie Simms Band, Steve Ferguson, and John David Kent. There is no cover charge for music but donations are appreciated. The Poker Run starts at noon ~ weather permitting. All proceeds will go directly to the House family. Deposits can be made directly at any American Bank of Texas. April 17th, 2010 The 14th Annual Ride for the Child BI-LO 5155 Calhoun Memorial Hwy. Easley, SC Rev up and ride in the fight to prevent child abuse! All vehicles are invited to take part in this annual poker run to benefit Prevent Child Abuse Pickens County. Registration is from 10 - 12 PM at BI-LO on Hwy. 123 in Easley, SC. The cost is $25 per vehicle and includes one poker hand. Extra hands are $10. CASH prizes will be awarded! The scenic route is about 100 miles through upstate South Carolina and ends at Michael's Pizzeria where there will be a free concert, great food and lots of fun! Help keep kids safe!
